Sunday School Classes

Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. is the perfect time to find a Sunday school class or small group to participate in at State Street UMC.

Adult Classes

Discussion Class
 

This class meets in the library on the main level.  They generally read and have lively discussions related to books by James Moore. Class members are invited to join the open discussion or just sit back and listen. Extra books are kept on the table for anyone who would like to join in. This class ranges in age from 60s and up.

 

ELPO Class

This group meets at the ELPO law office across the street (the corner of 11th and College). It is a class consisting of all ages and life stages. They discuss various topics by using videos, books and studies. They help monthly with several different outreach opportunities in the church and community.

 

Pathfinders Class 

A mature senior adults couples and singles class ranging in age from 50-90s.. They use the International Lesson Series- Adult Bible Study.The class has fellowship through bible study, music and prayer. This class meets on the main level in the Chapel.
 

New Life Class

The New Life Class is made up of married couples ranging in age from 40 and up. The class selects a wide range of studies designed for discussion. This class provides an opportunity for sharing, relating to and supporting each other through studies, mission opportunities and social outings.

 

Kittinger-Wood Class

This class meets in the Kittinger-Wood classroom downstairs near the Fellowship hall. It is a facilitator- led discussion of the International Lesson Series-Adult Bible Study. It is a multi-generational class made up of singles and couples.

 
Lifetree Class 

This class meets across the street in Grace Place.  It is made up of varying age ranges with singles and couples.  This group uses video and small group studies designed to explore current issues of life and faith. They use a small group setting to encourage conversations, questions and stories.

 
 

Children and Youth

Children meet in a large group format for praise and worship, scripture and prayer before dividing into preschool and elementary classes.  Kids learn to love and follow Jesus through interactive stories and lessons, as well as service projects.

Youth from 6th-12th grade meet in the youth room for lessons and discussion based on the weekly sermon topics.

Sunday School - Helpful Hints

Coffee and donuts are available before Sunday School in the gathering area.  Come get your caffeine and meet a new person. 

Our nursery is available for infants through 3 year olds while parents worship and attend Sunday school.  The nursery, located on the top floor of the church, is staffed with individuals who have been screened and trained according to our Safe Sanctuaries policy.
