Rev. Paul Fryman

Senior Pastor

Paul A. Fryman is the Senior Pastor at SSUMC.  He is a native of Shelby County, Kentucky, and received his degrees from Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary.  He is married to Ellen and they have two children:  Emily (Son in Law Nathan) and Phillip.  He loves to read and paint watercolors.  His favorite Bible verse is in John 15:4:  “Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”  He loves to preach, teach, and minister as a pastor. He likes to be called “Pastor Paul.”   “My hope and prayer is that we can meet Jesus in our congregation in such a way that we grow in his grace and become more like him making a difference in our world.”

Minister of Visitation and Senior Adults

 Bob has served the Lord faithfully over many years in the former Louisville Conference in several congregations and he also served on two occasions as a District Superintendent.   He is kind, gifted and wise.  He is a people person.  Most importantly, he is committed to our Lord and the Kingdom. Those of you who do not know Bob & Vivian will come to love them.  Bob's service to our church is a vital ministry to our congregation through visitation to our Shut-Ins, Hospitalized and in those in Recovery.   

Lee Young

Minister of Traditional Worship

Lee has worked in some capacity at State Street since 1991.  She began as a section leader in the Chancel Choir, assisted with Children's Choirs, directed Children's Choirs and is now Serving as Music Director/Minister of Traditional Worship.  A native of Pennsylvania, Lee moved to Nashville during high school.  She earned a Bachelors in Music Education and a Masters in Music Education from Western Kentucky University. Lee works part-time at State Street and works part-time as the music educator at St. Joseph Interparochial School where she teaches pre-8th grade music. She is married to Trent and they have one daughter, Allie.  Lee's favorite scripture is Psalm 121. "I lift mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help..."  Her favorite hymns are too numerous to list, but she is happiest when she is singing praise to the Lord.

Rev. Cindy Bright

Minister of Children & Families

Cindy is an ordained Deacon in Full Connection with our Kentucky Conference.  Cindy is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and Phillips Theological Seminary.  She and her husband, Jeff, live in Bowling Green where he works at WKU in the music department.  They have 2 daughters.

Minister of Student Development

Zach is a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College with a Bachelors Degree in Christian Ministries and a Masters Degree in Christian Leadership.  Zach's wife Talitha is an emergency room nurse at Greenview Hospital.

  Suzy is a native Hoosier (Brown County, Indiana) and now makes her home with her husband, Michael, in Oakland. She graduated Cum Laude from Sullivan Junior College of Business and worked 14 1/2 yrs for World Kitchen in Horse Cave.  Suzy enjoys watching birds and butterflies as well as visiting botanical gardens.  Her favorite book of the Bible is Ephesians.

Financial Manager

Tricia is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.  She has lived in the Bowling Green area since 1998 and has worked in the Tax Department at Fruit of the Loom and for Ernst & Young, LLC.  Tricia and her husband, Kelly, have been married over 10 years, and they have three children, Abigail, Hunter and Charlie.
